UbuCon Asia, which started as an online event in 2021, is now in its third year. This year’s event was held in Surakarta, Indonesia, and was a joint event with LibreOffice Conf Asia, making it a much bigger event than in previous years. I participated in the organizing committee for this year’s event as well as last year’s, but last year’s event was held in Seoul, so I was mainly part of the local team.

FOSSASIA Summit has been held online in past few years due to COVID-19, but this year, the event has been held in-person finally. I participated in the online event last year as an organizer and worked in the marketing team and the video team. But, I couldn’t participate in this year’s FOSSASIA event as an organizer. Because when the FOSSASIA team was built this year, I was so busy a few weeks ahead the UbuCon Asia 2022 event in Korea and I didn’t even know the team was being created.

Jammy Jellyfish Release Notes Introduction These release notes for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish) provide an overview of the release and document the known issues with Ubuntu and its flavours. Support lifespan Maintenance updates will be provided for 5 years until April 2027 for Ubuntu Desktop, Ubuntu Server, Ubuntu Cloud, and Ubuntu Core. All the remaining flavours will be supported for 3 years. Additional security support is available with ESM (Extended Security Maintenance).

Ubuntu Fest was held on June 23 in Daejeon. The event was organized under the theme of “Ubuntu and Embedded” and sessions were held on various topics, from the latest trends in the embedded software field to embedded deep-running. It was also the first seminar since the Daejeon team was organized. 6월 23일 대전에서 Ubuntu Fest가 진행되었습니다. 우분투와 임베디드를 주제로한 이번 행사는 임베디드의 최신동향에서부터 임베디드속 딥러닝까지 다양한 세션이 진행되었습니다. 또한 대전팀이 생긴 이후 첫 세미나였던 만큼 뜻깊은 행사였습니다. 오늘(2018.05.19) 우분투한국커뮤니티의 Hanjp-IM 프로젝트 팀은, GNOME Korea 와 함께 공동으로 조인트 모임을 진행 하였습니다. 이번 조인트 모임은, 지난 4월 26일 서울에서 열린 우분투 18.04 릴리스 파티에 참석하셨던 GNOME Korea 의 조성호님의 제안으로 마련되었습니다. 당시 Hanjp-IM 프로젝트를 이끄시는 김광연님의 프로젝트 중간 발표를 보시고 프로젝트가 잘 진행되도록 돕고 싶으셔서 제안 하셨습니다. 아무래도 구성원 모두가 입력기 개발을 처음 해 보는 상황이라 프로젝트 진행에 어려움을 많이 겪는 시점에서, iBus 쪽에 기여를 해 보신 분들이 GNOME Korea에 계신다 하셔서 조인트 모임을 하면 큰 도움을 받을 수 있을 것 같아 제안을 수락하게 되었습니다.

Today(May 19, 2018), Our Hanjp-IM Team from Ubuntu Korea Community, opened a joint meetup with GNOME Korea. This joint meetup was organized with the suggestion from Seong-Ho Cho, from GNOME Korea. who attended Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Release Party @ Seoul. After he watched the presentation about status of Hanjp-IM Project, he suggested us a joint meetup because he wanted to help our project. Since we have many difficulties with developing input method because all of us are begineer in input method field, We have accepted the suggestion wo that we can get some help with our project from the people knows manh things about iBus and input method.

4.28 토요일 부터, 4.29 일요일 까지. 우분투 18.04 릴리즈 파티를 준비하여 진행 하였습니다. 이번 LTS 버전 출시기념 릴리즈 파티 행사는, 서울 뿐만이 아닌 다른 지역에서도 공식적으로 진행되어 이전에 진행되었던 릴리즈 파티 행사와는 또 다른 의미를 가지게 되었습니다. 서울 외에, 대전과 부산에서 진행 되었으며. 세 행사 모두 성공적으로 마무리 되었습니다. 서울 선릉역 근처에 위치한 D.CAMP에서 행사가 진행되었습니다. “코딩이랑 무관합니다만,”이라는 페이스북 기반의 커뮤니티화 함께 행사를 준비하였습니다. 다른 세미나 행사와는 또 달리, LTS 출시 기념을 위한 행사이다 보니 60~70명 정도의 평소와 비교하면 정말 많은분들께서 참석해 주셨습니다.
