Ubuntu Fest was held on June 23 in Daejeon. The event was organized under the theme of “Ubuntu and Embedded” and sessions were held on various topics, from the latest trends in the embedded software field to embedded deep-running.
It was also the first seminar since the Daejeon team was organized.

Mijeong’s 「Plant Deep-Learning in Mobile」
The first session was 「Plant Deep-Learning in Mobile」 Addressed by Mijeong who came from Seoul to present to us at Ubuntu Fest.
She told us about the development of an app for drawing games with Keras in iOS.
She presented the process in which the Keras model written in Python with CoreML, one of the iOS’s developing tool, were applied, and its practical application project.
She told us about what Deep Learning is very systematically so that we could easily follow her.
Her presentation was especially easy to understand because her talk was in accordance with the sequence of the project.

Keunsu Shin’s 「Social Media for Machines, MQTT」
The second session was Keunsu Shin’s 「Social Media for Machines, MQTT」
The presentation, which started with the phrase, " I’m a developer," was an interesting one.
It was a session when I could not get bored and focus well as there were many interesting image materials. It has been a salutary time because him to speak about MQTT, which many people may not yet know.

Haryun Shin’s 「The Introduction of Hardware Development Process in a Startup」
The third session was Haryun Shin’s 「The Introduction of Hardware Development Process in a Startup」
He talked about the problems he experienced, and how to solve them through as applying the hardware development process in his company, SweetFab, this event’s sponsor.
It was a realistic session that he presented his own experience and solutions.

Hanwook Kim’s 「Code-based design vs Model-based design」
The last session was Hanwook Kim’s 「Code-based design vs Model-based design」
He gave us a presentation about model-based design and its advantages.
He even prepared some candy for the audience to increase participation. It could draw many people’s attention although the topic was an unfamiliar one.

Dining Together
After all the events, the staff members and the audience who volunteered got together and had a dinner party.
The party was held at Rusty Drum(녹슨드럼통) which was about 10minutes away.
